What to Expect from Your First Consultation
Most people arrive at our door with a mix of curiosity and a little nervousness. Here's exactly what happens during that first 30-minute conversation — so you can show up knowing what's ahead.

The first time you walk into an aesthetic studio, it's normal to feel a little uncertain. Will they pressure you? Will you be expected to commit on the spot? Will it feel transactional? At Studio Luna, our consultation is designed around the opposite assumption: that you deserve information and space, not a sales pitch.
Here's what happens, step by step.
Step 1: Arrival
We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your scheduled consultation time. This gives you a few minutes to settle in, complete a brief health intake form, and meet our reception team. The intake form covers basic information — medical history, current medications, allergies, recent procedures — that helps us assess your eligibility safely.
If you're driving, free street parking is available on Mission Street. If you're coming by BART, we're a 15-minute walk south from Daly City Station. Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how calm and unhurried the reception area feels.
Step 2: Private Consultation Room
Your consultation takes place in our dedicated consultation room — separate from the treatment floor. Quiet, comfortable, with no equipment in view to make you feel like you're being "processed." Just two chairs, a table, and time.
Your esthetician will introduce themselves and review your intake form. They'll then ask three opening questions:
- What brought you in today?
- What outcomes are you hoping for?
- What's your timeline?
These aren't sales questions — they're orientation. The answers help us understand whether what we offer matches what you're looking for.
Step 3: Honest Assessment
This is where we differ from many studios. After hearing your goals, we'll be honest about what's realistic with our technology — and what isn't.
If our services are a good fit, we'll explain which specific treatments we'd recommend, why, and what realistic outcomes look like. We'll show you our gallery (real client results, with consent), discuss session counts, and explain timelines.
If our services aren't a good fit, we'll tell you that too. Sometimes someone arrives looking for surgical-level results that our non-invasive technology can't deliver. In those cases, we'll explain why and suggest alternatives — including referrals to dermatologists or aesthetic physicians when appropriate.
"We will tell you if a treatment isn't right for you. We will recommend fewer sessions if more aren't needed. We will say 'I don't know' when we don't know."
Step 4: Transparent Pricing
If you decide to proceed, we'll present a personalized treatment plan with complete pricing transparency. This includes:
- Specific treatments recommended
- Session count and timing
- Total cost (no hidden fees)
- Affirm financing options if you'd like to spread payments
- Any package savings available
We'll write everything down so you can take it home. There's no expectation of booking in that moment. Many of our clients leave to think it over and return days or weeks later when they're ready.
No Pressure, Genuinely
If you'd like time to think, we won't follow up with calls or push notifications. We trust you to come back when you're ready. The only thing we ask is that you walk out feeling like the conversation was genuinely about you, not about closing a sale.
Step 5: Questions, Always Welcome
Throughout the consultation, we encourage you to ask anything — about the technology, our credentials, what to expect, how to prepare, or anything else. Common questions:
- How does this technology actually work?
- What does the session feel like?
- Are there side effects I should know about?
- How will I know if it's working?
- What if I have a medical condition?
If we can't answer something on the spot, we'll find out and follow up. If a question requires medical expertise beyond our scope, we'll refer you appropriately.
What to Bring
The consultation is informal and you don't need to bring anything specific. That said, these things help:
- List of current medications
- Notes on any specific goals or concerns
- Recent photos of treatment areas (optional, for reference)
- An open mind and honest expectations
What to Wear
Comfortable, normal clothes. Consultations don't typically involve physical assessment beyond what's visible — we don't ask you to undress unless you're doing a sample treatment, which is rare for first visits.
After Your Consultation
You'll leave with: a written treatment plan (if applicable), complete pricing information, our contact details, and our genuine wish that you make the choice that's right for you — whether that's booking treatment, deciding to wait, or deciding our services aren't for you.
That's the entire first visit. About 30 minutes of honest conversation, in a comfortable space, with people who will tell you the truth about what's possible.
